My GLP-1 journey essentials
These are the things I actually keep in my kitchen and my bathroom cabinet. Nothing here is required, nothing here is magic, and none of it replaces what your provider tells you. It’s just what has made this journey easier for me — and the questions I get asked most often.
A quick note: some of the links below are affiliate or referral links, which means I may earn a small commission if you buy through them. It never costs you anything extra, and I only share things I use and genuinely like.
Hydration & electrolytes
Staying hydrated became a much bigger deal for me on a GLP-1. When I’m eating less, I’m also getting less from food, so I lean on electrolytes to help me actually want to drink water.
- Ultima Replenisher electrolytes — my everyday water mix-in.
- Instant Aminos clear protein — when a shake feels like too much but I still want protein in my water.
Protein I actually reach for
Protein is the thing I hear my provider and the Emerge community talk about most, and it’s the habit that took me the longest to build. Smaller appetite means what I do eat has to count. These are the grab-and-go options that live in my pantry.
- Premier Protein shakes (Cake Batter) — my go-to when mornings are chaos.
- Barebells protein bars (Cookies & Cream) — tastes like a candy bar, honestly.
- Alani Nu Protein Munchies
- Taste Bites protein
- ALOHA organic plant-based bars
- Built Puff protein bars
- Noka plant-based protein
- Chomps meat sticks
- Epic jerky and Righteous jerky
- Bare Bones bone broth — my comfort option on days my stomach is fussy.
For the days my stomach is not my friend
Everyone’s experience is different, and mine has had its rough days. These are the things I keep on hand — but please talk to your provider about anything you’re dealing with rather than trying to solve it from a shopping list.
- Ginger chews — the thing I’m asked about most.
- Fiber gummies
- nbPure (including Mag07)
- Plant Magnesium
Vitamins & the little extras
When you’re eating less, the basics matter more. I talked to my provider about what made sense for me, and these are what I landed on.
- Triquetra Health supplements — where most of my daily vitamins come from.
- Flora Biome live probiotic
- Plant D3 + K2
- L-Methylfolate + Methyl-B12
- MaryRuth Organics
- Liquid sublingual biotin and BondiBoost hair products — hair is a real conversation in this community, and this is what I use.
Tracking without obsessing
I had to find a version of tracking that helped me instead of making me crazy. For me that meant weighing in on my own terms and getting a realistic sense of portions early on.
“I won’t pretend any of this is magic — but a lot of it genuinely helped me. These are the things that made the hard parts easier and kept me going on the days I might not have.”
Everything else I love
